J.J. Hickson
Player News
Hickson, who spent the 2016-17 season in China, has agreed to a contract with the Jiangsu Tongxi of the Chinese Basketball Association, freelance reporter David Pick reports.
Hickson once again failed to attract any legitimate NBA suitors for the upcoming season and will spend the upcoming 2017-18 campaign in China. It's possible his name will re-emerge once the CBA season concludes in the spring, though that wasn't the case after the 2016-17 campaign.
J.J. Hickson will be active for Sunday's game.
This will be the first game Hickson plays after being signed a few days ago by the Wizards. It's hard to know what his role with the team will be, so he is best left on the wire until we can get a better idea of how Washington will use him. He will likely see 15 minutes or so per-game and be a depth player, so odds are he stays on the wire all season.
J.J. Hickson will be in uniform but is unlikely to play in Friday's game.
The Wizards are going to dress Hickson on Friday night, though it is not expected that he will play. There is a strong chance of a blowout against Philadelphia, so Washington will hold him out for at least one more game.
Hickson was just recently bought out by the Nuggets and will bring about a solid front court presence when given the oppurtunity to play given his ability to rebound the basketball. With him being unlikely to play on Friday it would seem as though Marcin Gortat will continue to see all the minutes at center he can handle.
J.J. Hickson is at the Wizards' morning shootaround and will be available to play Friday.
Hickson was just recently signed by the Wizards and will serve as bench depth moving forward. The team had a roster space open after dealing both Kris Humphries and DeJuan Blair, so they'll roll with the former Nuggets big man for the rest of the season. He will only see limited minutes, so he is not one for fantasy targets.
