While he hasn’t been much of an asset in fantasy leagues since the All-Star break, Jones is capable of the occasional big night. Friday was one of those occasions, as he shot 6-of-6 from beyond the arc. The six triples matched Jones’ season-high, and this was his first 20-point effort since New Year’s Eve. Tyus’ hot shooting helped supplement Bradley Beal’s production, as he finished with 15 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and four three-pointers in 26 minutes. As long as Beal remains the preferred option to start, there won’t be much to gain from rostering Jones in most leagues.
Tyus Jones, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Bol Bol and Nick Richards will start Monday’s game against the Grizzlies.
With Monday’s game being the Suns’ second in as many nights, Bradley Beal (calf) will not play. Jones returns to the starting lineup in a change that raises his fantasy ceiling considerably. The other four starters are unchanged.
Tyus Jones finished with 12 assists in Thursday’s loss to the Pelicans, adding 15 points, a steal and five triples across 39 minutes.
Jones reclaimed his starting gig with Bradley Beal on the sidelines, and he certainly made the most of his opportunity. The assists were a game high, and the three-pointers were his most since he knocked down five against the Clippers on January 27. The Suns have a quick turnaround with a rematch set for Friday night against New Orleans. If he’s back with the first unit, Jones will look to build on Thursday’s big performance.
