Tyler Ennis
Player News
Ennis was signed and then waived by the Raptors on Saturday, Blake Murphy of The Athletic reports.
The unusual move was designed to get Ennis to the Raptors 905 of the G League, the affiliate of the Toronto Raptors. Additionally, it was in part to allow Ennis to continue rehabbing from an injury he sustained last year while also working on his game to potentially be at point guard at the next level this season.
Ennis was waived by the Lakers on Thursday.
Ennis played the most games of his career last season (54), posting 4.1 points, 1.9 assists and 1.8 rebounds across 12.6 minutes per tilt. It's possible the 23-year-old latches on elsewhere, but it's unlikely he'll be fantasy relevant wherever he lands.
Ennis mustered 4.1 points, 1.9 assists and 1.8 rebounds across 54 games played with the Lakers in 2017-18.
Ennis appeared in the most games and played the most minutes in his career with the Lakers in 2017-18 but responded by averaging the lowest scoring and assist total he has had in two years. The former first-round draft pick from Syracuse holds a team option of about $1.7 million for next season and it's unknown right now if the Lakers will elect to pick it up.
Ennis supplied 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two steals across 23 minutes in a 105-99 loss to the Rockets on Tuesday.
Ennis was productive once again with extended run, posting his fourth double-digit scoring effort in the last five games. The fourth-year guard has shot between 44.4 and 57.1 percent in those contests while providing solid contributions across the rest of the stat sheet. Ennis should be in line for another solid workload in Wednesday's finale against the Clippers.
