RJ Barrett (rest) and Ja’Kobe Walter (hip) are out against the Mavericks on Friday.
Barrett and Walter will not be available on Friday. The latter will miss a second straight game due to a hip injury. AJ Lawson and Jamison Battle will play more minutes, which would also be the case for Jared Rhoden (shoulder) if he’s allowed to suit up. Rhoden is questionable for Friday night.
RJ Barrett (rest) and Ochai Agbaji (rest) are not on the injury report against the Nets on Sunday.
After sitting out on Friday, both Barrett and Agbaji will be back in the lineup. Barrett will replace Jamison Battle in the starting unit, while Agbaji’s return will take away minutes from AJ Lawson and Jared Rhoden. The cyclical rest days should continue for Barrett and Agbaji for the rest of the season.
RJ Barrett (rest) and Ochai Agbaji (rest) are out for Friday’s matchup with the Pistons.
No surprises here, as Toronto has alternated rest days for many of its starters since the All-Star break. The Raptors played Thursday, so Barrett and Agbaji will sit out the second leg of the back-to-back set. In their absence, Ja’Kobe Walter and Jamison Battle should earn some extra minutes.
RJ Barrett led the Raptors with 18 points (9-of-18 FGs), five rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block in a 112-103 loss to the Trail Blazers on Thursday.
Barrett was back after getting a rest night against Chicago on Tuesday, and based on recent trends, he will likely get another one against the Pistons on Friday. However, while available against Portland, Barrett was able to have a productive night in the loss. He typically hasn’t been productive on the defensive end, but his four total defensive stats in this game were a new season-high for him, and his three steals were the most he has had in a game since before the All-Star break. However, managers shouldn’t expect this to be the new norm for Barrett.
