NAW was Minnesota’s primary reserve option on Tuesday, with Donte DiVincenzo and Naz Reid serving suspensions. He came up big for them late, hitting multiple big shots and finally winning the game after being fouled on a three-pointer with 0.1 seconds left in the game. He made the first two and missed the final shot intentionally to end the game. This was a new season-high for scoring for NAW, and he approached triple-double territory. Unfortunately, with both DiVincenzo and Reid coming back, he likely won’t see 45 minutes in another game anytime soon.

Most of NAW’s big nights as a scorer have come when he is starting, but he was able to provide buckets as a reserve on Tuesday. This was Alexander-Walker’s third 20-point game off the bench this season, with two of those coming since the All-Star break. NAW is more than capable of contributing value in nine-cat leagues, but he is a risky option to stream in when he isn’t in the starting lineup. Still, it was nice to see him play this well as a reserve.

NAW has come off the bench in Minnesota’s last three games, but he has still been productive. This was the fifth straight game that he has scored in double figures. He may be in line for an even larger opportunity on Friday if Anthony Edwards’ 16th technical foul, which he picked up on Thursday, isn’t rescinded. Edwards is on track to be suspended against the Jazz, which would likely allow NAW to move into the starting unit, or at least take on extra minutes. Minnesota still has two more games this week, with the final one coming in Phoenix on Sunday.

Alexander-Walker shot 4-of-7 from beyond the arc on Sunday and has scored at least 14 points in four of his last six outings. He’s in a difficult spot playing behind Anthony Edwards in terms of providing fantasy value. However, injuries suffered by Edwards (who did not have to leave) and Jaylen Clark (who exited with a neck injury) during Sunday’s game may boost Alexander-Walker’s value for Monday’s rematch with the Thunder in Oklahoma City.
