Marquese Chriss
Player News
The Thunder have waived Marquese Chriss.
Chriss was sent to OKC as part of the Christian Wood deal, but he was a long shot to make the opening night roster. He'll now look to latch on with another team, but it's unlikely he'll find himself in a situation where he'd be capable of providing value in fantasy hoops.
As part of an eight-team trade, Marquese Chriss has been dealt to the Thunder, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Thursday.
Chriss was dealt to Houston as part of the Christian Wood deal, but they've shipped him off before he could ever suit up for them. As far as impacting fantasy hoops, this is a pretty pointless deal. Chriss will be a depth veteran for the Thunder, but shouldn't see the floor much, if he does at all. He had knee surgery in June and wasn't ready for the start of training camp. Lucky for him, anyone in OKC can be a silly season hero if they're healthy.
Marquese Chriss (knee surgery) is still not ready to play and is the only Rocket not fully healthy entering training camp.
In an article posted recently by Dream Shake, it is speculated that Chriss may not be long to stick with the Rockets based on a logjam at the forward spots. He's not likely to offer fantasy value this season.
Marquese Chriss underwent knee surgery on Wednesday and will be rehabbing for the next couple months according to Chris Haynes.
Haynes did not specify which knee. Chriss was traded to the Rockets on Wednesday and will hopefully have the chance to compete for some minutes off the bench since Houston is lacking some depth up front.
