Luke Kennard (Achilles) is available for Game 4 against the Thunder on Saturday.

Initially questionable with a sore right Achilles, Kennard has been upgraded to available. With Ja Morant (hip) out, there will be more opportunities available to Kennard. Either he or John Konchar will start, with the latter being the more likely choice.

Luke Kennard (Achilles) is officially questionable for Game 4 against the Thunder on Saturday.

Kennard could be in line to start with Ja Morant (hip) doubtful for Game 4, but the 28-year-old shooting guard is questionable with right Achilles soreness. While Morant’s is an injury the Grizzlies simply can’t afford in this series, Kennard’s injury certainly doesn’t help them. Santi Aldama could be in line for a significant role if Kennard misses Game 4.

Luke Kennard turned in a solid line on Monday with eight points (4-of-11 FGs), two rebounds, eight assists and two steals against the Kings.

With Ja Morant sidelined, Kennard took on the role of facilitator for Memphis. This was his second-straight start, but it wasn’t a productive one outside of the assist boost. This was Kennard’s fifth game this season with at least eight dimes, but he wasn’t able to reach his season-high of 11. Kennard has upside as long as he is starting, but the production hasn’t been there consistently for him. He is known for his deep-range shooting, so while the assist numbers are fun, Kennard not hitting a triple is disappointing.
