Ky Bowman has agreed to a deal with the Clippers.
Shams Charania said Bowman will compete for a roster spot in camp, so the deal could be non-guaranteed. Bowman made some nice appearances in the absence of Stephen Curry for Golden State last season so it's nice to see him land on his feet. He's well off the fantasy radar, to be clear.
The Warriors will waive PG Ky Bowman.
He had some nice fill-in starts for the Warriors last season but Jordan Poole reportedly had a strong mini-camp and was getting some PG reps. The Warriors also took Nico Mannion with the 48th overall pick. Bowman is expected to have several suitors in free agency.
Ky Bowman returned to action from his sprained right ankle and played 24 minutes and hit 5-of-6 shots for 11 points, four rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in a blowout loss to the Clippers on Tuesday.
This was a total surprise, as the last update we had was that Bowman would be reevaluated on Thursday. He came back early but was helped by the lopsided nature of the 131-107 Clipper win. And with Stephen Curry due back on Thursday, Bowman is going to be unreliable, outside of the chance of a few random, solid performances between now and the end of the season. He still belongs on waivers.
The Warriors announced on Tuesday that Ky Bowman (sprained right ankle) is "making good progress" and will be re-evaluated next Thursday.
With Stephen Curry (left wrist) returning to action this week, Bowman's fantasy value has plummeted. He should be left on waivers, even after he is medically cleared.
