Kevin Seraphin has officially retired from playing professional basketball.

Seraphin spent time with the Wizards, Knicks and Pacers during his playing career, and he spent the past few years playing overseas. He never made much noise stateside or overseas, and constant knee issues ultimately ended his career.

Seraphin is planning on signing a two-year contract in Barcelona once he clears waivers from the Pacers, Scott Agness of VigilantSports.com reports.

Seraphin seemingly didn't find any NBA suitors for the 2017-18 campaign after posting 4.7 points and 2.9 boards across 11.4 minutes per game with the Pacers last season. He'll opt to sign a deal overseas instead, where he'll likely see a much bigger role than he has over the past handful of years.

Seraphin was waived by the Pacers on Monday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.

The decision comes just hours before Seraphin's deal for the 2017-18 season would have become guaranteed, so waiving the 27-year-old will save the Pacers close to $2 million against the cap. After coming over from New York as a free agent last summer, Seraphin appeared in only 49 games, averaging 4.7 points and 2.9 rebounds in 11.4 minutes per game.

Seraphin supplied 17 points (8-10 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, and one steal in 19 minutes during Monday's 120-111 win over the 76ers.

Seraphin finished with a season high in scoring, and he is averaging 13.0 points per game over the last three tilts. Al Jefferson (ankle) was listed as active last Thursday, but he still hasn't suited up since March 26. If Jefferson remains sidelined for Wednesday's regular season finale versus the Hawks, it seems likely that Seraphin would once again be in line to receive most of the backup center minutes behind Myles Turner.
