After only missing one shot in a Game 3 blowout win, Allen and the Cavs were even better in the series-clinching victory. They went from winning by 37 to winning by 55, and Allen was perfect from the floor and the free throw line. He also tied the franchise record for steals. What made things more impressive was that he did most of that in the first half as he entered the break with 12 points, 11 rebounds and six swipes. If the score wasn’t so lopsided, this could’ve been a truly special performance for him, though his dominance was the reason for the blowout. He’ll look to carry this into the next round.

Playing without Darius Garland (toe), the Cavaliers impressively took care of business in Game 3. And Allen had a lot to do with the team’s start, making all four of his shots in the first quarter. He would finish one rebound shy of a double-double as Cleveland handed Miami its third-worst playoff defeat in franchise history. Allen and the Cavaliers will go for the sweep on Monday.

While Cleveland’s perimeter attack will grab the headlines due to their offensive production, the frontcourt did its job as rebounders and defenders in Game 1. Allen recorded a complete stat line, which included a double-double, while Evan Mobley added seven rebounds along with nine points, one assist and one three-pointer. Allen may be the most overlooked member of the “core four,” but his production as an efficient finisher who also rebounds and defends is essential. The Cavaliers will look to extend their series lead in Game 2 on Wednesday.

Allen is the only regular in the Cavaliers’ starting lineup for Thursday’s game. However, with Cleveland having secured the top seed in the East, Allen is not expected to play starters’ minutes. Jerome, Merrill, Hunter and Wade are all worth streaming with Cleveland playing Thursday’s game without four starters.
