Frank Mason
Player News
The Lakers have waived Frank Mason, the team announced Thursday.
Mason agreed to a training camp deal with the Lakers just over a week ago, and he did not see any game action during the preseason. It's possible that Mason will join the team's G League affiliate, once he clears waivers.
Free-agent guard Frank Mason is signing a training camp deal with the Los Angeles Lakers according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Mason suited up for Orlando for four games last season, making one start and averaging 6.3 points, 3.0 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game. It is a long shot at this moment that Mason makes the Lakers roster, or any other roster at this time, but even if he were to make the cut, he is nowhere near a fantasy target.
Frank Mason (groin) has been waived by the Magic.
Orlando is in dire straights with their point guard situation, so they can't afford to wait for Mason to recover from the groin injury. He will be cut in order to bring on Chasson Randle, but once he recovers, Mason should be able to snag a minimum-level deal elsewhere.
Frank Mason (right groin strain) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. Phoenix.
Mason injured his groin on Thursday and was unable to play on Friday, which resulted in Michael Carter-Williams logging 27 minutes as a starter while posting a line of 21 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and one triple with Cole Anthony (shoulder) also on the sidelines. Anthony is being listed as questionable for Sunday, so if he's forced to join Mason on the sidelines tomorrow night, MCW will make for a quality streamer. Stay tuned.
