The Celtics waived Denzel Valentine on Friday to make room to sign Blake Griffin.
Valentine will be able to try and find a new team to play for, but the odds of him finding a situation that can give him a role are incredibly small. He won't be on anyone's fantasy hoops roster.
The Celtics have reportedly signed free agent Denzel Valentine to a training camp deal.
The Exhibit 10 deal allows the five-year NBA veteran to fight for a roster spot. The Celtics have 12 guys under contract, so there's a chance that Valentine will fill one of their final spots as wing depth. No matter where he lands, it's hard to envision him helping fantasy managers in 2022-23.
The Jazz plan to sign Denzel Valentine to a 10-day contract, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
With James Ennis deemed to have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, the Jazz had to look in another direction for roster reinforcements. Enter Valentine, who began the season with the Cavaliers before being included in the three-team trade headlined by Rajon Rondo. Waived by the Knicks, Valentine is now a free agent. Provided he passes his COVID tests, Valentine will be with the Jazz for Monday's game against the Pistons in Detroit.
The Knicks have waived Denzel Valentine.
Once Valentine clears waivers, he'll be able to sign with a team of his choosing, but he's never been an impact player in fantasy hoops.
