Brandon Knight
Player News
The Mavericks have signed Brandon Knight to a 10-day contract.
Knight is back with the Mavericks after making a positive impression on the team during a prior 10-day stint back in December. He gives the team another backcourt option with Sterling Brown and Trey Burke sidelined (health and safety protocols) but is unlikely to play enough minutes to be worthy of consideration in any fantasy/DFS league.
Brandon Knight came off the Mavs' bench for 24 minutes and hit 6-of-12 shots and a couple 3-pointers for a season-high 18 points, three rebounds, five assists and a steal in Monday's 132-117 win over the Blazers.
Knight has gotten better in each of his three games with the Mavs this season but his run is likely going to come to an end soon. The clock is ticking on his 10-day contract and the Mavs are starting to get guys back from health and safety protocols. but if you happened to play him tonight he came through in a pretty big way.
Brandon Knight saw 10 minutes off the bench in his Mavericks debut on Thursday, scoring two points on 1-of-4 shooting to go with two rebounds and nothing else in a loss to the Bucks.
The last time Knight appeared in an NBA game was on March 11 of 2020, but he's found his way back into the league with so many contract players being forced into quarantine due to COVID-19. It's nice to see him back on the floor, but he's safe to ignore in fantasy hoops.
The Mavericks plan to sign Brandon Knight to a 10-day hardship deal, according to Adrian-Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Knight has played in 446 games in his NBA career spanning nine seasons. He was on a stint in the G-League with the Sioux Falls Sky Force, where he scored 25 points on Tuesday night. He will now get a reunion with Jason Kidd, who coached Knight for two seasons in Milwaukee. Knight is not expected to be a fantasy factor in Dallas.
