Cleveland scored 19 points (8-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT) while grabbing 11 boards and dishing seven assists in Saturday's win over Rio Grande Valley.
Cleveland extended his streak of double-digit scoring to 11 games in the win and snagged double-digit rebounds for the ninth time this season en route to his eighth double-double. He has garnered only 14 minutes of NBA action this season but has fared well in the G League, posting per-game averages of 15.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals.
Cleveland is yet to make an appearance through four regular season games in 2019-20.
Cleveland averaged 4.8 points (23.8 FG, 20.0 3Pt, 72.2 FT), 2.6 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.2 blocks, and 0.2 threes in 10.2 minutes per game through five preseason contests. However, he hasn't seen any action thus far in the regular season. Unless his two-way deal gets converted into a standard contract at some point, Cleveland will likely remain irrelevant across most fantasy formats.
Cleveland will ink a two-way contract with the Mavericks, Tim Cato of The Athletic reports.
Cleveland put on an impressive display in Summer League, averaging 16 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 2.4 steals and one block per game over five contests. The showing was enough to earn him a deal that could result in a spot on the Mavs' Opening Night roster with a strong training camp.
Cleveland poured in 14 points (6-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-4 FT) and added four rebounds, one assist, three steals and one block across 28 minutes during the Mavericks' 105-101 loss to the Kings in a Las Vegas Summer League game Monday.
Cleveland came into Monday's contest with a team-leading 17.5 points (on 57.0 percent shooting) over the Mavericks' first two summer league contests, and he was even sharper Monday. The 25-year-old guard was outplayed by backcourt mate Cameron Payne versus the Kings, but he's undoubtedly made a formidable impression in just three games of play in the desert.
