Antonio Blakeney
Player News
Blakeney and the Bulls agreed to part ways on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Blakeney has thrived in the G-League during his time in the league, but was never able to find that same success when given a chance on the Bulls' roster. A streaky scorer, he will need to work on his efficiency in order to find another opportunity.
Blakeney will come off the bench for Saturday's game against the Raptors, Mike McGraw of the Chicago Daily Herald dreprots.
Blakeney will be replaced in the starting lineup by Ryan Arcidiacono. Blakeney's averaging 7.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 14.4 minutes per game this season.
Blakeney will start Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Blakeney will make his third start in four games for the injury-decimated Bulls. Across the past three games, he's averaging 7.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 23.7 minutes.
Blakeney had 11 points (5-15 FG, 1-2 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 21 minutes during Tuesday's 112-103 loss to the Raptors.
Blakeney finished with more field goal attempts than points. Still, he filled up the stat sheet, and with the Bulls beaten up by injuries, he may remain a pretty appealing option in leagues that primarily value counting stats across the final seven games of 2018-19.
