Angel Chivilli

Chivilli has gotten the call to the majors a couple of times by virtue of already being on the Rockies’ 40-man, but he’s not ready just yet. He allowed five runs over 5 1/3 innings in his two weeks with the team.

Chivilli was briefly up last month, but he didn’t get to make his major league debut then. It’ll probably happen this time. The 21-year-old had a 2.50 ERA and a 29/11 K/BB ratio in 18 innings of relief work for Hartford.

Chivilli joins Colorado’s bullpen ahead of Friday’s series opener against the Pirates with Justin Lawrence away from the club on paternity leave. The 21-year-old righty was added to the Rockies’ 40-man roster during the offseason and has excelled this season in six relief appearances for Double-A Hartford.
