One of the top pitching prospects in baseball, Schultz checked in at 131 overall in Rotoworld’s latest dynasty rankings update. The towering 21-year-old southpaw looked extremely impressive in his spring debut, averaging 97.3 mph on his sinker during an eight-pitch frame. He boasts astronomical strikeout potential and has a decent shot at arriving in the majors sometime around midseason after posting a 2.24 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 115/24 K/BB ratio across 88 1/3 innings (23 starts) last year between High-A Winston-Salem and Double-A Birmingham.

Schultz is considered the top left-handed pitching prospect in baseball, and he was able to register an impressive 115 strikeouts over 88 1/3 innings with a 2.24 ERA before being shut down with a shoulder impingement. The 2022 first-round pick could make his debut in 2025, but he’s more of a 2026 play in terms of fantasy relevance.

Schultz was selected 26th overall by the White Sox in last year’s draft. The 20-year-old was quickly moving up many prospect lists with his outstanding campaign with High-A Kannapolis. The lefty posted a 1.33 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and 38/6 K/BB ratio across 27 innings this season.

Schultz will reportedly receive a $2.8 million signing bonus after being tabbed with the 26th overall selection in the 2022 MLB Draft. The towering 6-foot-9 left-hander possesses a solid slider and fastball mix and is an intriguing long-term project for the White Sox.
