Chase DeLauter went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run during Monday’s game against the White Sox.
DeLauter has homered in two of his past four games. His three-run home run came in the first inning against Drew Thorpe. DeLauter has put together a spring resume that has him in the running for a Opening Day roster spot. Through 12 spring games, he’s hit 10-for-21 (.476 AVG) with three home runs and seven RBI.
Chase DeLauter clubbed his second home run of the spring on Tuesday afternoon, powering the Guardians to a 3-0 victory over the Rangers in Cactus League action.
The 22-year-old outfielder snapped a scoreless tie with his two-run run blast off of Danny Duffy in the sixth inning. He also singled in the ballgame, finishing the day 2-for-3. He’s having himself a nice spring at the dish — hitting .467 (7-for-15) with a pair of long balls and four RBI. If he keeps it up, the Guardians just may have to find room for him on their Opening Day roster.

It was DeLauter’s fourth round-tripper of the Arizona Fall League, and he is now batting .270/.358/.850. The 22-year-old was considered by many to be a top-100 prospect even before performing well in the desert. Dating back to his final year at James Madison University, DeLauter has missed a significant amount of time with various foot injuries but has plenty of upside due ability to hit for average and power in games.

DeLauter, who is regarded as a top-100 overall prospect and among Cleveland’s top prospects, is batting .259/.352/.407 across 71 plate appearances in the AFL, but is tied for the circuit lead with 16 RBI so far. The 22-year-old outfielder missed the majority of the 2023 season recovering from a fractured left foot, but is making up for lost development time this fall.
