Isaac Collins was removed from Wednesday’s game against the White Sox with a right elbow contusion.
Collins was hit by a pitch in the early stages of Wednesday’s contest and tried to gut it out for a couple frames before being lifted for Vinny Capra at second base. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to rule out any fractures.
Isaac Collins belted the first home run of his big league career on Tuesday night, powering the Brewers to a 7-2 victory over the White Sox in Chicago.
Collins wasted no time in this one, crushing a 372-foot (102.8 mph EV) solo shot off of Tyler Gilbert in the opening inning to give the Brewers an early 1-0 edge. The 27-year-old outfielder also drew a walk during the Brewers’ rally in the sixth inning and scored as Sal Frelick was plunked with the bases loaded. Collins finished the evening 1-for-4 and is now hitting .243/.300/.405 with a homer, two RBI and a pair of stolen bases through his first 40 plate appearances on the season.
Isaac Collins is starting at designated hitter and batting third for the Brewers on Wednesday against the Royals.
The Brewers are looking for anything to jumpstart their offense right now, so Collins will slide into the DH spot with Christian Yelich getting an off day against Cole Ragans. Collins has gone 3-for-6 as a part-time player so far in 2025. This will be his first start.
The Brewers have informed Isaac Collins and Jake Bauers they’ve made the Opening Day roster.
Bauers will need to be added to the 40-man roster. Collins will be a versatile backup who can play in the outfield as well as second and third base, while Bauers offers some pop off the bench from the left side. It’s unlikely either sees a ton of playing time to begin 2025.
