Céspedes was a big disappointment in hitting .214/.315/.326 in a second year at Double-A Birmingham, but since moving up to Triple-A last week, he’s gone 12-for-30 with a homer and six doubles. The 25-year-old seems like a long shot to turn into a quality major leaguer at this point, but at least it looks like he’ll have something to build on here going into a make-or-break 2024.

Céspedes picked up his first two homers of the season in the contest. The younger brother of Yoenis Céspedes, Yoelqui isn’t the same kind of talent as his older brother, but there’s a lot to like thanks to above-average power potential with a speed grade that isn’t far behind. He also has a strong arm like big bro, although not quite the cannon Yoenis had. Céspedes can be a regular, and because of the pop/wheels, he has a chance to be a fantasy helper. He could help Chicago before this season comes to an end.

It's the second homer of the spring for the younger brother of Yoenis. The 24-year-old isn't quite the talent of big bro, but there is fantasy upside in his bat. He could help Chicago before the end of the year, but it likely would take injuries, trades or a monster start to his 2022 season for it to happen. Maybe all three. 

Céspedes drilled a two-run homer to left-center field in the second inning and also singled in the fourth inning before being picked off first base. The 24-year-old outfielder signed with the White Sox last January and proceeded to hit .285/.350/.463 with eight homers and 18 stolen bases between High-A Winston-Salem and Double-A Birmingham. He has a realistic shot at forcing his way to the majors later this year.
