Chad Patrick dropped to 1-3 after allowing three runs in 5 2/3 innings Thursday against the White Sox.

Patrick deserves better with his 2.87 ERA, but the Brewers have scored a total of three runs in the last three games he’s started. His solid showings should keep him in the rotation over Quinn Priester when Brandon Woodruff is activated, but we’ll see. Priester has one more chance to audition tomorrow.

Chad Patrick did a decent job in Friday evening’s loss to the Cardinals, surrendering two runs on four hits over 4 1/3 innings.

The 26-year-old right-hander walked two and struck out two in the ballgame. He worked through the first three innings unscathed, but the Cardinals scratched out single runs against him in the fourth and fifth innings before he exited. Patrick got just four swings and misses on 70 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of 21 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he totes a 2.45 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 22/11 K/BB ratio (25 2/3 innings) into a premium matchup against the White Sox in Chicago on Thursday.

Chad Patrick allowed two runs over six innings with seven strikeouts Saturday in a loss to the Athletics.

Patrick, 26, scattered seven hits and he didn’t walk anyone. He gave up a fielder’s choice that scored a run in the third, and a solo homer to Brent Rooker in the sixth. Another solid start for Patrick, and the fact it saw his ERA go up to 2.11 tells you how well he’s pitched; even if he hasn’t gone deep into games. Patrick is still a risky option for a start Thursday against the Giants.

Chad Patrick worked 4 1/3 scoreless innings with three strikeouts in his start against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Patrick gave up five hits and two walks, so he was a little fortunate to escape with a scoreless outing. Unfortunately he had to escape too early to qualify for a victory. The 26-year-old has allowed just one run in his three starts, but it’s hard to trust a player that doesn’t miss bats like Patrick as a fantasy option. He will look to keep up the good run — but work deeper — in a start over the weekend against the A’s.
