2025 Player Outlook
In 53 games with the Guardians last season, Manzardo slashed .234/.282/.421 with five home runs, 12 doubles, 11 runs scored, and 15 RBI. While none of his quality of contact metrics jumped off the page, a 9.5 percent barrel rate and 22.1 degree launch angle is sufficient when trying to project power numbers in 2025. However, his .197 xBA from last year is very underwhelming, and he had a measly .211 average and .566 OPS against southpaws last season. He posted a .270 average and .873 OPS in the month of September after getting recalled to the big leagues. He's still very young, and we've seen some pretty impressive numbers from him during his time in the minors. Potential platoon risk, but if he taps into the offensive prowess many projected for him as he came up through the minors, we could see 18+ home runs from Manzardo this season. He's worth a flier in the later rounds of your draft, as the talent alone is worth betting on.
Player News
Kyle Manzardo is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Yankees.
Manzardo takes a seat after making five consecutive starts between DH and first base, recording at least one hit in each of those contests, including three round-trippers during that span. The 24-year-old former top prospect has seven big flies and 18 RBI through 22 games as he emerges as an everyday player. It’ll be franchise cornerstone José Ramírez getting off his feet at DH on Wednesday night in his place with tough lefty Carlos Rodón toeing the rubber for New York.
Kyle Manzardo went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a 5-4 extra-innings win over the Pirates on Sunday.
The home run was Manzardo’s sixth of the season, and he now has 16 RBI as well. He homered in the seventh to give the Guardians a three-run cushion and then knocked in the eventual game-winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning after the bullpen blew the lead. His batting average leaves a little to be desired, but Manzardo’s process has looked great this season, showing a strong understanding of the strike zone and trying to lift the ball more than he has in the past. The hits should start dropping soon.
Kyle Manzardo is not in the Guardians’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s showdown against the Orioles.
It appears to be just a routine day of rest for the 24-year-old slugger with right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano toeing the slab for the Orioles. Manzardo has slowed considerably after his strong start to the season as he’s slashing just .185/.313/.463 to go along with four homers and 11 RBI. Jose Ramirez will function as the Guardians’ designated hitter in his place on Thursday with Gabriel Arias sliding over to third base and Daniel Schneemann drawing a start at second base.
Kyle Manzardo hit a two-run homer in a victory for the Guardians on Wednesday over the White Sox.
Manzardo swatted a two-run blast in the first inning to give the Guardians a 2-1 lead, and it was all Cleveland from that point on. While the 24-year-old hasn’t seen the hits drop in the field of play as seen in a .225 average, he’s seen the ball drop over the fence with four homers over the first 12 games.
