Mets RHP prospect Christian Scott struck out six over three scoreless innings Sunday for Low-A St. Lucie.
Scott allowed three hits in the start, and didn't issue a walk. A fifth-round pick out of the University of Florida, Scott is more of a high-floor pitcher than one with a high-ceiling; he throws three pitches for strikes, and the command isn't far behind the control. In short spurts he has shown the ability to get his heater up to 98 mph, but he mostly sits in the low-to-mid 90s while showing an adequate slider and change. There's a chance he's nothing more than organizational depth, but the Mets have done a very nice job with this type of profile, and he's an arm to monitor moving forward.
