Mason Miller closed out the Rangers on Thursday afternoon, working a perfect ninth inning to protect a three-run advantage.
The dominant 26-year-old right-hander made sure that the A’s lead was going to stand up in this one. He got Josh Jung on a fly ball to center, Jonah Heim on a line drive to center and then punched out Marcus Semien to end the ballgame, needing just nine pitches (six strikes) in order to do so. He now boasts a 1.50 ERA on the season to go with 10 saves and a 23/2 K/BB ratio over 12 innings.
