Rangers selected the contract of RHP Caleb Boushley from Triple-A Round Rock.
The 31-year-old Boushley, who served brief stints with the Brewers and Twins the last two years, will make his Rangers debut after allowing two runs in 8 1/3 innings for Round Rock. He’ll pitch out of the pen.
Rangers signed RHP Caleb Boushley to a minor league contract.
Boushley augments the Rangers’ relief depth heading into next season after making a pair of relief appearances last year for the Twins. The 31-year-old righty has bounced around the last few seasons between the Padres, Brewers and Twins since 2021. He doesn’t miss a ton of bats, which limits his upside, but he represents serviceable emergency relief depth, which doesn’t seem like a big deal until a club desperately needs it.
Twins sent RHP Caleb Boushley outright to Triple-A St. Paul.
Boushley and Trevor Richards were both recently given the DFA without being claimed, and both will stay in the organization. Boushley will have to be added back to the 40-man roster in order to pitch again for the Twins in 2024 or any other year.
Twins designated RHP Caleb Boushley for assignment.
Boushley was just added to the roster by the Twins on Tuesday, but they need the 40-man roster space for Michael Helman. Boushley now hits the waiver wire, and if he goes unclaimed likely goes right on back to St. Paul.
