Randy Rodríguez was diagnosed with a flexor tendon strain after going on the injured list Thursday and will not throw for two weeks.

Giants placed RHP Randy Rodríguez on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.
Rodríguez has compiled a serviceable 3.93 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 52/16 K/BB ratio across 50 1/3 innings (33 appearances, one start) this season for the Giants in his first exposure to the big leagues. Given the type of injury, the 24-year-old rookie reliever is probably done for the rest of the year.
Randy Rodriguez picked up a win after allowing one run over three innings in relief Sunday against the Rockies.
Rodriguez, who was recalled before the game, was the bulk guy today after Erik Miller opened and pitched a scoreless first. He’s 3-1 with a 4.11 ERA in 46 innings for the Giants, all but 2 2/3 of them coming as a reliever.
