MacArthur had offseason surgery to repair an olecranon fracture in his elbow and has yet to resume throwing. He probably won’t be a factor prior to the All-Star break.

McArthur is working his way back from last year’s right elbow surgery and will likely be transferred to the 60-day injured list when Kansas City needs to free up a 40-man roster spot. The 28-year-old reliever likely won’t be an option until sometime around midseason.

McArthur underwent surgery to stabilize an olecranon fracture in the offseason, and has just now started throwing. The 28-year-old right-hander is a candidate to begin the season on the injured list, but when healthy the hope is he’ll be able to be a high-leverage option for Kansas City for the majority of 2025.

McArthur went on the injured list with a right elbow strain last week. While the chance of him returning was already slim, he didn’t progress enough in the last week for there to be any chance for him to return now.
