The 27-year-old southpaw made one appearance with the Tigers, striking out a pair of hitters over 1 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball. A corresponding move will be announced on Friday. Anticipate Horn getting another opportunity to pitch out of the Tigers’ bullpen in the near future.

Horn has been summoned to replace an injured John Brebbia (triceps) in Detroit’s bullpen ahead of Saturday’s game against the Royals. The 27-year-old southpaw was acquired back from the Cardinals back in mid-March. He struggled last year in 18 relief appearances for the rebuilding White Sox.

The Cardinals plucked the 27-year-old southpaw off of waivers from the Tigers in January. He was optioned to Triple-A Memphis after appearing in three Grapefruit League contests with the Cardinals. The Tigers obviously saw something that they liked though and wanted him back, so they sent funds to the Cardinals to get a deal done. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him report to big league camp with the Tigers.

The 27-year-old southpaw appeared in three Grapefruit League contests, compiling a cringe-inducing 15.43 ERA, 3.43 WHIP and a 1/5 K/BB ratio over 2 1/3 innings of work. He’ll attempt to work through his control issues on the minor league side of camp.
