2025 Player Outlook
There were rumblings heading into 2024 that Frelick could get some time at 3B, but they ultimately didn’t happen, so Frelick only has OF eligibility heading into 2025. He only hit two home runs in 145 games last season, which isn’t all that surprising when you see his 83.4 mph average exit velocity, 0.7 percent barrel rate, 19.4 percent hard hit rate, and 1.5% HR/FB ratio. While you won’t get much power for Frelick in 2025, he makes a lot of contact and should hit around .255 with a stolen base total in the mid-to-upper teens. While Frelick doesn’t have significant split issues, he is at a platoon risk in the Milwaukee outfield. He can give fantasy managers a respectable batting average and some cheap speed, but outside of that, not too much is noteworthy about Frelick.
Player News
Sal Frelick went 1-for-3 with a triple and a stolen base as the Brewers rolled to an easy victory over the Tigers on Tuesday evening in Milwaukee.
Frelick smacked a triple down the first base line off of Jack Flaherty in the second inning and came in to score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Garrett Mitchell. He then reached on a fielder’s choice in the sixth inning and swiped second base, but the Brewers couldn’t cash him in from there. On the season, the speedy 24-year-old outfielder is now hitting .306/.403/.403 with zero homers, five RBI and five stolen bases.
Sal Frelick went 4-for-5 with a triple and a double against the Reds on Saturday.
Frelick came in batting .321, but these were his first two extra-base hits of the season. He actually had four hard-hit balls tonight, doubling his season total. The hardest of those came in at 100 mph, though. It’s hard to imagine that he’ll ever be any sort of exit-velocity guy, but singles, walks and defense will keep him in the Brewers lineup.
Sal Frelick went 2-for-4 with an RBI single on Sunday in a loss to the Yankees.
Frelick was one of the few Brewers that had a positive experience during the club’s nightmarish season-opening series in New York, batting .455 (5-for-11) with an RBI during the three-game set. It’s too small of a sample size to say anything definitive, but it’s an encouraging start for the 24-year-old former top prospect, who is locked in as Milwaukee’s primary left fielder.
Sal Frelick went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI on Monday in his return to the lineup.
Frelick was back in right field on Monday against the Rockies after missing a handful of games earlier this week with left calf soreness. The 24-year-old former top prospect is expected to open the regular season as the club’s starting left fielder, which gives him some appeal in deeper mixed leagues.
