2025 Player Outlook
Jobe is Detroit's top prospect and one of the best pitching prospects in all of baseball. He logged a couple of innings in a relief role last year, and despite a couple of rough outings in the postseason, there's a lot to like for Jobe in 2025 (and beyond). He figures to win a job in the rotation out of camp, and while they'll likely be careful with him, he can handle 120-140 IP in 2025. So long as the command issues from 2024 don't follow him into 2025, he's one of the most enticing pitching prospects we could see in the beginning part of the year, and all the tools are there to become a fantasy ace. High upside pick at his current ADP.

Jackson Jobe made his spring debut Tuesday, striking out two in a perfect inning against the Twins.
Jobe got an invite to camp, only to be cut last week before getting the opportunity to work in a game. That chance came today, and he topped out at 101.8 mph while throwing 13 pitches to finish off 1-0 win. Jobe is expected to open the season in Double-A.
Tigers optioned RHP Brendan White to Triple-A Toledo; reassigned RHPs Jackson Jobe, Garrett Hill, Ty Madden, LHP Brant Hurter and C Eliezer Alfonzo to minor league camp.
No surprises here as Jobe, who will make his spring debut on Tuesday against the Twins, was already told that he wasn’t going to make Detroit’s Opening Day roster. The 21-year-old top pitching prospect figures to reach the big leagues at some point this season, if he continues to excel in the upper minors.
Tigers RHP prospect Jackson Jobe will make his Grapefruit League debut on Tuesday against the Twins.
Jobe is universally-regarded as one of the top handful of pitching prospects in baseball and will make his highly-anticipated spring debut early next week. The 21-year-old righty, who was outstanding in the Arizona Fall League a couple months ago, has already been told that he won’t make the Opening Day roster, but the expectation is that he could be ready to arrive in Detroit at some point this season.
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said starting pitching prospect Jackson Jobe will not make the team out of camp.
It’s not a huge surprise since Jobe is just 21 years old and has one career appearance above High-A. However, he is also one of the top pitching prospects in baseball, so there was some thought that his outlook could change after a strong spring training. That, however, appears not to be the case. With the Tigers starting rotation filled with young pitchers, it may be hard for Jobe and Ty Madden, who was also told he won’t make the team, to breakthrough this season.
