Leiter figures to only require one or two rehab outings before he’s ready to rejoin Texas’ rotation in early May. The 24-year-old righty looked outstanding in his first couple starts before hitting the injured list with a blister issue on his right middle finger. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats and appears to be close to returning to the big leagues.

Leiter will make a minor league rehab start or jump back into Texas’ starting rotation mix following his next throwing session. The 24-year-old hasn’t experienced any blister-related issues during his injured list stint, which is a positive development. It sounds like there’s a decent chance he’s back later next week.

Leiter made it through the side session without any issues pertaining to the blister on his right middle finger that sent him on the injured list last week. The 24-year-old might be able to jump back into Texas’ starting rotation later next week without requiring a minor league rehab start, but that remains to be seen. It certainly sounds like he’s on track to return by mid-April.

As anticipated, Leiter will land on the injured list and give himself time to let the blister heal rather than attempting to pitch through it. He shouldn’t require much longer than the minimum stint on the injured list. Patrick Corbin was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move and will take Leiter’s place in the Rangers’ rotation.
