2025 Player Outlook

Chourio’s rookie season was phenomenal, as he joined the 20/20 club and slashed .275/.327/.464. His walk rate was right on line with numbers he posted in the minors, and for 2025, he seems to be a better value in leagues that value batting average compared to OBP. As the weather warmed up last year, so did Chourio, and he posted a .310 average and .387 wOBA with 12 home runs and 12 stolen bases over the final 63 games. He’ll open the 2025 campaign as the everyday leadoff hitter for Milwaukee, and in just his second big league season, he has all the talent in the world to join the 30/30 club. A safer projection is that he goes 25/25 with a .265ish batting average, but he makes a lot of hard contact, and if he trades a few ground balls for fly balls, he could cruise past 30 long balls in 2025. Elite fantasy talent.

Jackson Chourio went 4-for-5 with a homer and three RBI against the Cardinals on Saturday.

The homer was a two-run blast off Ryan Helsley to tie the game in the ninth before the Cardinals won it in the bottom of the inning. Chourio came into the day in an 8-for-46 slump that had dropped his OPS from .966 to .760. He’s been lacking in the plate discipline department this year, leaving him with a 29/2 K/BB in 132 plate appearances. Still, talent seems sure to win out here.

Jackson Chourio is not in the starting lineup against the Giants on Thursday.

Chourio has really struggled at the plate as of late with just six hits over his last 10 games, and the Brewers will give the 21-year-old a day of rest to reset. Expect Chourio to be back in the lineup to begin Friday’s series against the Cardinals. Jake Bauers will start at first base with Rhys Hoskins the DH and Christian Yelich in left field.

The 21-year-old phenom is off to a nice start to his sophomore campaign, slashing .275/.280/.563 with five homers, 17 RBI and a pair of stolen bases.
