Vazquez spent the majority of the 2024 season at Triple-A Iowa where he slashed .263/.347/.432 with eight homers, 24 RBI and one stolen base (in three attempts) across 273 plate appearances.

Vazquez has been removed from Chicago’s 40-man roster to make room for veteran utility infielder Jon Berti. The 25-year-old got into 11 contests last season for the Cubs in his first taste of the majors, going 1-for-12 with one RBI. He’ll remain with the organization as extra infield depth if he winds up clearing waivers.
