Rays placed OF Jake Mangum on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain.
Jake Mangum was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Diamondbacks with left groin tightness.
Mangum went 0-for-2 at the dish before being lifted from the contest in the fourth inning following a ground out. He’ll continue to undergo further evaluation and there should be an update on his status prior to Thursday’s series finale out in Arizona.
Jake Mangum made an early exit from Wednesday’s game against the Diamondbacks with a possible injury.
Mangum appeared to be dealing with some sort of leg issue on a fourth-inning ground out. He was replaced by fellow rookie Chandler Simpson in the bottom of the frame. There should be an update on his status shortly.
Jake Mangum is not in the Rays’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Rangers in Arlington.
The 29-year-old outfielder had started and hit in the middle of the Rays’ lineup in each of the team’s last four ballgames. Christopher Morel will start in his place in left field and bat fifth for the Rays against Rangers’ right-hander Tyler Mahle on Friday.
