Mark Vientos doubled in a run and walked Tuesday in the Mets’ 5-1 defeat of the Phillies.
Vientos, who is dealing with a groin injury, made his first start in three days and played nine innings for the first time in five days. To go along with the double tonight, he had a 337-foot flyout down the line that would have been a homer in seven ballparks.
Mark Vientos (groin) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the division-rival Phillies.
Vientos is back at the hot corner and batting cleanup following a two-game absence due to a lingering groin issue. Brett Baty heads to the bench with Luisangel Acuña at the keystone. The 25-year-old third baseman has gotten off to an ice-cold start at the dish, so the hope here for fantasy managers is that the extra time off served as a bit of a mental and physical reset.
Mark Vientos (groin) remains out of the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Phillies.
It’ll be Brett Baty at third base for the second straight contest on Monday night at Citi Field while Vientos continues to deal with a lingering groin issue.
Mark Vientos (groin) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.
As expected, Vientos will sit out Sunday’s series finale at Citi Field following an early exit from Saturday’s contest with groin discomfort. It’ll be Brett Baty taking over at the hot corner in his absence.
