Gómez was cut loose earlier this week by the Dodgers after just three relief appearances. The 25-year-old righty will move on to his third organization in less than one month after pitching well in six outings for the Yankees at the outset of the season. He’ll continue operating in long relief for Chicago.

At least they’ll always have the one glorious three-inning save. Gómez flawlessly finished out a 9-2 win in his Dodgers debut after being claimed off waivers from the Yankees, but he’d since give up seven runs in 1 1/3 innings over two appearances.

Gómez pitched three scoreless frames and struck out four to finish out a 9-2 game. The 25-year-old righty was picked up Friday after being DFA’d by the Yankees. He’ll likely mostly pitch in low leverage situations.

The 25-year-old hurler was designated for assignment by the Yankees earlier in the week after posting a 2.70 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and a troublesome 5/9 K/BB ratio over 10 innings in six appearances with the Yankees. He’s out of minor league options, so expect another move to be coming from the Dodgers before Friday night’s contest.
