2025 Player Outlook
Ober was everyone's favorite breakout arm last season, and he didn't disappoint. Sure, his ERA was a little closer to four (3.98) than many would have liked, but he also won 12 games with a 1.00 WHIP, 26.9 percent strikeout rate, and over his final 13 starts of the year, he had a 0.90 WHIP! He added a cutter to his arsenal last season, and while that pitch was hit at a .279 clip, he did manage to post a whiff rate of at least 22 percent on all five pitches, and three of those pitches were at 30+ percent. Ober has the makings of a guy who can reach 200 strikeouts this year for the first time in his career, health willing, and win double-digit games with a sub-1.15 WHIP for the second consecutive season. You can trust him as your SP2/SP3 (depending on league size).
