2025 Player Outlook
Fitzgerald burst onto the scene from relative prospect obscurity to post a splendid .280/.334/.497 line in 341 plate appearances, but there are reasons for skepticism. First, he struck out 31.7 percent of the time and carried a below average 78.9 percent zone-contact rate. Fitzgerald also carried a .380 BABIP and a 16.7 percent HR/FB rate, and both numbers are nearly certain to regress. For context, the league average BABIP is around .300 and the league average HR/FB rate is closer to 10 percent. Fitzgerald is a threat on the basepaths and should begin the season as an everyday player, so he does carry some fantasy appeal. But to expect production anywhere near last season's levels is likely a mistake.

Tyler Fitzgerald (ribs) rold reporters on Thursday that he hopes to miss just two weeks with his left rib fracture.
Fitzgerald suffered the injury a couple of games ago while diving for a ball in the field. During a swing on Wednesday he felt that it could be something more than just a bruise which led to the MRI that revealed the fracture. He’ll rest for a least a couple of days before resuming baseball activities, but he’s hopeful that he won’t require an extended absence.
Giants placed INF Tyler Fitzgerald on the 10-day injured list with a left rib fracture.
No word yet on the severity of the fracture or any sort of timeline on when he may be able to return, but conservative estimates seem like he’ll miss at least a couple of months. Brett Wisely was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento to take his place on the active roster on Thursday.
Tyler Fitzgerald (chest) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Padres.
Fitzgerald is back at the keystone and batting ninth following a two-game absence due to a chest contusion. The versatile 27-year-old is hitting .289 with two homers and five steals through 23 games this season.
Tyler Fitzgerald (chest) remains out of the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Rangers.
Fitzgerald will miss his second straight game on Sunday with a chest contusion. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be rookie Christian Koss making another start at the keystone in his absence.
