Rasmussen surrendered a run in the first and two more in the second, and while the 29-year-old settled down over the next three frames, the damage was done. He walked one and fanned five in the outing, and it’s the first start in 2025 that he’s allowed more than a run. Rasmussen still has a very strong ERA of 2.10 and 27/6 K/BB on the year, and he gets a chance to bounce back Wednesday versus the Royals.

The 29-year-old right-hander racked up seven strikeouts on the evening while issuing three free passes. The only damage done against him came on a bloop RBI single off the bat of Trent Grisham in the second inning. That would stand as the only run for either team in the ballgame. Rasmussen got a whopping 17 swings and misses on 84 pitches on the night — nine of them on his cutter — while registering an elite CSW of 38 percent. Rasmussen has been unbelievable through his first four starts, compiling a 0.87 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and a 22/5 K/BB ratio over 20 2/3 frames. He’ll try to get back in the win column when he squares off against the Diamondbacks in Arizona on Thursday.

Rasmussen was excellent on Saturday, blanking the Atlanta lineup over five frames. He scattered four hits and one walk while striking out seven batters. He was saddled with a no-decision after the bullpen failed to hold the lead. The 29-year-old right-hander has allowed just one run through three starts, giving him a 0.60 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, and a 15/2 K/BB ratio across 15 innings. Rasmussen will look to keep it rolling in a tough matchup against the Yankees in Tampa on Thursday.
