White Sox activated INF Bryan Ramos from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.
Ramos had been shelved since the end of spring training due to a right elbow strain. He’s now fully recovered and will return to an everyday role at the Triple-A level until the White Sox decide to give him another opportunity.
White Sox placed INF Bryan Ramos on the 10-day injured list with a right elbow strain.
Ramos had lost the starting third base job to Miguel Vargas, but had a chance to claim the second base or designated hitter job before suffering the injury. There is currently no set timeline for his return.
Bryan Ramos has started hitting and fielding again while dealing with soreness in his right elbow.
Ramos has a chance of making the White Sox as their starting third baseman, pushing Josh Rojas to second, but it seems like a long shot. Ideally, though, he’ll take a nice step forward after hitting .242/.320/.387 in 88 games in the minors and .202/.252/.333 in 32 games in the majors last season.
Bryan Ramos went 1-for-3 with a solo homer against the Tigers on Saturday.
Ramos put the White Sox on the board in the second inning with a solo homer off Beau Brieske for his only hit of the game. The 22-year-old third baseman has hit .189/.235/.326 with three homers and nine RBI across 103 plate appearances.
