Selby augments Baltimore’s bullpen depth heading into Saturday’s twin bill at Comerica Park. The 27-year-old righty made one relief appearance earlier this month for the Orioles. He’ll operate in low-leverage spots and should head back to Triple-A Norfolk at the conclusion of the doubleheader.

The move makes room for waiver claim Scott Blewett on the active roster. Selby gave up two runs in an inning in his lone appearance for the Orioles.

Selby takes the place of Zack Eflin with Eflin on the injured list with a lat sprain. The27-year-old will be a multi-inning bullpen option while he’s with Baltimore.

Selby was a long shot to secure a spot in Baltimore’s season-opening bullpen. The 27-year-old righty, who made five relief appearances last year between the Orioles and Royals, will head back to Triple-A as extra organizational relief depth.
