2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: Pepiot spent almost four months on the IL due to strained oblique but once he was activated, he posted a 2.14 ERA and 0.762 WHIP in eight big league appearances for the Dodgers last season. He was equally effective as a starter and reliever and while he’s had some issues giving up the long ball, he significantly reduced his walks allowed (1.1 BB/9) and limited his hits allowed (5.8 H/9) as well.
2024 Outlook: Pepiot hasn’t thrown more than 101.1 innings in his professional career, but he is expected to begin the season in the Rays starting rotation. He has three solid offerings (four seam fastball, slider and changeup) that combined to limit opposing hitters to a .179 batting average. He’ll probably experience some growing pains and might be on an innings limit, but he has breakout potential.
