Henry will likely be one of the first arms up for Arizona when they need help in the form of a multi-inning southpaw. Kessinger also has a chance to earn time as a utility option.

Henry actually navigated a scoreless first inning in this one and got Randy Arozarena to line out to start the second. Things fell apart for him after that. Mitch Garver and Dominic Canzone each singled, then Tyler Locklear followed with a two-run double. Ryan Bliss added a run-scoring double of his own before Henry was pulled from the game and he Bliss came around to score against the bullpen. He was already quite a ways down the depth chart at starting pitcher entering Sunday and this outing isn’t going to help his cause.

Henry has been shipped back to the minors after getting crushed for six runs over 3 2/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Phillies. The 26-year-old lefty has surrendered 11 runs combined over his last two starts, which is when Arizona apparently decided they’ve seen enough for now. It’ll likely be Zac Gallen returning from the injured list at some point next week to fill his rotation spot.
