Kyle Stowers went 2-for-5 with a two homers and six RBI to lead Miami to a 9-6 win over the Athletics on Saturday.
Stowers got unlucky with a 108 mph line out in the first inning. He later sent one over the center field wall with a two-run homer off Osvaldo Bido in the third inning to put the Marlins on the board. Stowers stayed red-hot in the ninth, taking Mason Miller deep for a walk-off grand slam. It was hit second multi-homer game this week. The 27-year-old outfielder is of to a tremendous start, hitting .324/.392/.552 with six homers and 25 RBI across 120 plate appearances.
Kyle Stowers went 4-for-4 with two homers, a double and four RBI against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Stowers came in with two homers in 27 games, but given that he had 10 barrels already, he was rather unlucky in that regard. He’s now batting .323/.396/.510 in 111 plate appearances, and while we wouldn’t expect him to keep that up, he should remain a perfectly solid outfielder for the Marlins, albeit one who will likely need a platoon partner in the long run.
Kyle Stowers went 2-for-5 with a double, triple, and two RBI on Friday against the Nationals.
Stowers was especially comfortable against Nationals’ starter Mitchell Parker. He hit a 100 mph groundout in the first inning, a triple in the fourth, and two-run double in the fifth that stretched the Marlins’ lead out to four runs in that moment. He’s become a deserved fixture in the heart of the Marlins’ lineup with a respectable .780 OPS through 12 games.
Kyle Stowers hit a two-run homer off Kodai Senga in the first to get the Marlins started in Tuesday’s 4-2 win over the Mets.
Stowers was back in the lineup tonight after sitting against lefties the previous two days. He’s played big roles in three of the Marlins’ four wins this season, delivering a walkoff hit on Opening Day and three hits, one of them tying the game in the 11th, in a 12-inning win Saturday. That’s important with Jesús Sánchez presumably returning sometime this month; Stowers needs to outproduce Griffin Conine to ensure that he’ll stay in the lineup.
