2025 Player Outlook
Lee doesn't provide much with the stick, but he's got a big-time arm behind the plate. He gives fantasy managers some cheap pop behind the dish, but an 11th percentile chase rate and first percentile whiff rate won't do him any favors. Kyle Teel is in the organization now, and we likely see him at some point in 2025. As long as Lee is the primary backstop for the White Sox, he'll tank your team's batting average, but he can provide a little bit of pop and some cheap speed behind the dish. Lee is only on your radar if you play in deeper AL-only setups, or very, very deep 2C setups.
Player News
White Sox placed C Korey Lee on the 10-day injured list with a left ankle sprain.
Lee has been serving as the backup to Matt Thaiss. He’s gone just 5-for-15 with three runs and one RBI on the season. The White Sox have called up Omar Narvaez to take his place on the active roster.
Korey Lee was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Guardians with left ankle soreness.
Lee appears headed to the injured list after suffering what appeared to be a painful left ankle injury while attempting to get back to the first-base bag during the sixth inning. Baseball America’s James Fegan reports that it’s veteran Omar Narváez, not top catching prospects Kyle Teel or Edgar Quero, being called up to replace him.
Korey Lee went 3-for-4 with a run scored on Saturday in a loss to the Tigers.
Korey Lee singled in both of his at-bats Saturday as the White Sox edged the Rockies 2-1.
Lee seems like a placeholder in Chicago now, but he’s one with a .409 average in 23 plate appearances this spring. He’ll begin the season as a regular while top catching prospects Kyle Teel and Edgar Quero battle it out in Triple-A.
