With Andrew Benintendi set to come off the IL, the White Sox sent Jones back down to make room. The 27-year-old went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts in his time with the White Sox and stole a base as a pinch runner.

Jones was just optioned back down to Charlotte Friday, but he’s allowed to be recalled since he’ll take the place of Austin Slater, with Slater hitting the injured list. Jones will be a bench option with the White Sox while with the team; probably for longer than 24 hours this time.

Jones was only with the White Sox for two days. The speedy 27-year-old likely will make a few trips between Charlotte and Chicago in 2025. It’s not too long a flight.

Jones will be on the active roster with Andrew Benintendi out with his adductor injury. While Jones offers top-of-the-scales speed, he doesn’t have enough offensive upside — and won’t get enough playing time — to suggest he offers fantasy upside.
