X-rays on Bryson Stott’s left hand came back negative for any fractures.
It’s a relief that Stott didn’t suffer any significant damage when his left hand was stepped on during the final play of Tuesday’s walk-off win over the Nationals. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. There’s a chance he winds up sitting out Wednesday’s showdown to rest and recover.
Bryson Stott got his left hand stepped on during the final play of Tuesday’s game against the Nationals.
Stott had his sliding mitt knocked off when Kyle Finnegan stepped on his hand while he was sliding into home on a game-ending wild pitch, and he was definitely in some pain afterwards, though he made it through the post-game interview in style. If he’s not in the lineup Wednesday, this is probably the reason.
Bryson Stott tripled, walked and scored a run on Sunday night as the Phillies eked out an extra-inning victory over the Cubs in Chicago.
Stott smacked a one-out triple off of Jameson Taillon in the third inning then scored the Phillies’ first run on the night as Trea Turner smacked a single into left field. He also worked a walk during his squad’s two-run rally in the 10th inning. For the season, the 27-year-old second baseman is now hitting .292/.367/.438 with two homers, 14 RBI and five stolen bases.
Although he’s working on a nine-game hitting streak, Bryson Stott is out of the Phillies lineup against a lefty on Wednesday.
Stott isn’t bad against lefties, but Edmundo Sosa is simply better, and the Phillies prefer using him in the infield than the outfield. As a result, Stott is taking a seat. The Phillies also have the newly activated Weston Wilson playing left field over Max Kepler versus the Mets’ David Peterson.
