2025 Player Outlook

Injuries limited to Lodolo to just 115.1 IP (21 GS) last season, and he posted a 4.76 ERA (3.95 FIP) and 1.20 WHIP. It was hard for Lodolo to establish a rhythm, but his 106 Stuff+ and 3.30 K/BB ratio was solid, and he had a six-start stretch from the end of May through June where he posted a 2.57 ERA with a 5-1 record across six starts. He does a good job of keeping the ball in the park, and the biggest issue with Lodolo in 2025 is durability. If he's healthy, he's got a rotation spot with Cincy, and he can be a very intriguing arm for fantasy. He can help your ratios, as he doesn't really walk guys, while posting over one strikeout per inning. Of course, he's a risky target, as injuries have been present for him in his young career, and last year's 21 starts and 115.1 IP were both career highs.

Nick Lodolo gave up four runs in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Marineers.

This was all Dylan Moore’s fault, as he homered twice and singled off the Reds left-hander. Lodolo struck out six and allowed just two singles and one walk to the rest of the Mariners lineup. He’s still off to an excellent start with his 2.31 ERA, and he might be able to go the entire rest of the year without facing Moore. He’ll get the Orioles next.

The Reds pitching staff blanked the Giants for the second straight day. This time it was Lodolo with an impressive start, going six shutout innings. He scattered three hits and one walk while striking out three batters. The 27-year-old left-hander has produced a 0.96 ERA, 0.70 WHIP, and an 8/1 K/BB ratio across 18 2/3 innings over three starts. He’ll take on the Mariners in Cincinnati next Tuesday.

Nick Lodolo pitched well in a losing effort against the Brewers on Thursday night, allowing just one unearned run on four hits over his 6 2/3 innings.

The 27-year-old left-hander struck out four on the night and didn’t walk a batter. The only run that scored against him came in the fourth inning as Jackson Chourio doubled, advanced to third on an error and scored on a Sal Frelick RBI single. Unfortunately for Lodolo, the Reds’ offense couldn’t provide him with a single run of support in this one. He generated eight swings and misses on 82 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll look to get back in the win column as he carries a stellar 1.42 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and a 5/0 K/BB ratio (12 2/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Giants in San Francisco.

Nick Lodolo pitched six innings of two-run ball against the Giants in a win Saturday.

Justin Verlander matched Lodolo for five, but the Reds pulled ahead in the sixth and hung on from there. Lodolo won despite striking out just one and giving up eight hard-hit balls, including a Wilmer Flores homer. It all worked out against a below average offense, but he’ll probably need to be a little better next time out against the Brewers.
