JJ Bleday blasted a two-run homer on Thursday, helping to power the Athletics to victory over the White Sox in Chicago.
The 27-year-old outfielder victimized White Sox’ right-hander Davis Martin with his 372-foot (104.2 mph EV) two-run shot in the sixth inning that pushed the A’s advantage to 4-0. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the afternoon. For the season, Bleday is slashing just .227/.325/.364 with a pair of homers, 10 RBI, one stolen base and a 14/10 K/BB ratio through his first 77 plate appearances.
JJ Bleday went 3-for-4 with an RBI in a win over the White Sox on Wednesday.
JJ Bleday went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and three runs scored to lead the Athletics to a 10-4 win over the Padres on Tuesday.
Bleday enjoyed a stellar day at the dish against the Padres, starting with a two-run double in the first inning before scoring on a base hit by Miguel Andujar. Bleday then drew a walk in the third and scored for a second time. Leading off the seventh, he took Yuki Matsui deep for a solo homer, his first of the season. The 27-year-old outfielder doesn’t have the most exciting profile, but could be a solid reserve outfielder to stream at home in deep leagues.
JJ Bleday went 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk as the Athletics bested the Rangers 6-3 on Tuesday.
Bleday hit third, which will probably be his spot against righties during the regular season. He should remain in the lineup but maybe hit lower versus lefties. The possibility is there for some mixed-league value in Sacramento, but though the ballpark change will be helpful, we’re not sure he’ll improve much on last year’s .243/.324/.437 line.
