Anderson is replacing Aaron Civale on the Milwaukee roster and should be available to cover multiple innings today if needed. The 27-year-old had a 6.35 ERA in 62 1/3 innings over 49 relief appearances for the Rangers the last two years.

The 27-year-old hurler had been designated for assignment by the Rangers earlier in the week, so they were content to flip him for anything that they could get at this stage. Anderson made 23 appearances at the big league level for the Rangers in 2024 — posting an 8.10 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and a 29/10 K/BB ratio over his 26 2/3 innings of work. He’ll add bullpen depth for the Brewers.

Anderson will lose a couple of weeks after he was hit by a comebacker in the ninth inning of Wednesday’s game. He has an 8.10 ERA in 26 2/3 innings out of the Rangers pen this season.

Anderson was done regardless, but since he was hobbled and did exit with the trainer, we’ll note this as an injury. It probably won’t prove to be anything serious.
